The Nintendo Beast YouTube Channel Has Reached 4k Subscribers

Wow… if 13 year old Jon could see this channel now! Put simply, I started The Nintendo Beast YouTube channel in 2010. I was roughly 13 years old and I was just a kid with an affinity for YouTube, video production, video games, and most specifically – Nintendo. I made on and off attempts at creating a successful channel, but I never really gave it enough effort. Frankly, my attention span at that age was too short to actually succeed in running a YouTube channel.

I honestly don’t know what I posted to the channel, if anything, between 2010 and 2012 – but my earliest still-published video on the channel is a tutorial I made on “How to Install the Homebrew Channel on Wii 4.3” back in 2012.

At the time of posting, this video got close to no views. But similar to the story of the channel itself, it now has roughly 3.4k views. Between 2012 and 2017, I uploaded a whopping 13 videos (most of which are now private because of copyright claims against the featured music). Then in 2019 I received a random payment from Google Adsense and had no clue where it came from.

Upon discovering that the TNB channel had somehow amassed ~1.86k subscribers through its dormancy, I decided to return to the channel and see if the audience was still there and active. I started uploading videos again in 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and have been uploading videos ever since.

Which brings me to now – just passing my 1,000th video on the channel and hitting 4k subscribers (and counting on both). My focus with the channel is just having fun and creating entertaining content for my subscribers, but my overall goals are to continue building it up as an additional revenue stream and – more importantly – someday hit 100k subscribers and earn a plaque from YouTube. With that in mind… I’m 4% there as of today!
